The names in this collection fall into several categories. Many are selected from Pagan myths, such as Aenid, the Odyssey, the Mabinogion, the Eddas and others. Some are more modern sounding names from cultures from which many modern Pagan traditions claim roots including Celtic, Greek and Egyptian names, among many others. Some of our names are nature names including the names of plants, stones, animals and natural landscape features. A few are names based on the names of Gods and Goddesses worshipped by Pagans in various traditions.
Some of them are obnoxious and laborious to pronounce and wouldn't be at all suitable for a baby, but some of them, you may be surprised to learn, are very normal-sounding so even our Pagan brethren who prefer to keep their religious practices discrete have many options to choose from if they wish to give a new baby a name that reflects their faith.
