Ammon
Ammon is an Greco-Egyptian name meaning hidden or "the hidden one"
It is a Greek name for an Egyptian oracle God whom Alexander the Great claimed was his father.
The God was imaged with the horns of a ram and it is said that Alexander would wear ram's horns in honor of his divine father. Whether this is true, he was often imaged after his death wearing these horns.
The Persians (whom he had conquered) considered him to be an agent of the evil one (Zoroastrian tradition) and some believe this is where the devil got his horns.
Variants: Ammon, Amun, Amunet
