Meleager

In Greek myth, Meleager was an Argonaut and a hero of the Calydonian Boar hunt. He won a race against Atalanta by dropping golden apples to distract her and thus won her hand and she was also part of the hunt, and in fact drew first blood. In an argument over Atalanta's claim to the boar's hide, Meleager his mother's brother and she cursed him to his death.

Meleager was also the name of one of Alexander the Great's officers.
