About the name Artemisia
The name Artemisia derives from the name Artemis. I have seen the meaning "perfection" given for this name, but I can't confirm this. I am going with something like "honor or gift of Artemis".
There are several famous Artemisia's in history. In the 4th Cen BCE, Artemesia built the Mausoleum in honor of her deceased husband Mausolus. Artemisia of Halicarnassus (her mother?) was famous for her cunning during the Persian invasion of Greece.
Artemisia is a genus of plants that are considered sacred or at the least magically useful by many Witches, including Wormwood, Southernwood, Mugwort and Tarragon
